This easy growing vines are 15 years old and produce 8 ton/ha. It was harvested in middle March and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 24°C for 10 days. The wine was matured for 12 months in 1st, 2nd and 3rd fill in French Oak Barrels.
Rich blackberry fruit with a hint of liquorice and spices. Smooth and light tannins with a long aftertaste.
The temperature of your Barbera should be between 13 - 18°C. You can decant your wine 30 minutes before drinking. Barbera will compliment dishes like game, mushrooms and herbaceous cheeses. Bright acidity in the wine will make a rich and fatty dish complete.
Barbera has old school vibes accredited to ancient origins. An Italian Count in the 17th century first cited Barbera wines as a favourite with army officers thus beginning the ongoing catch phrase for Barbera, “the people’s wine” or as the Count documented a “sincere companion”.
